To extend the logical volume:

Note: These steps only apply to EXT3 file systems.

Caution: VMware recommends to take a complete backup of the virtual machine prior to making these changes.

  1. Power off the virtual machine.
  2. Power on the virtual machine.
  3. Identify the device name, which is by default /dev/sda, and confirm the new size by running the command:

    # fdisk -l

  4. Create a new primary partition:
    1. Run the command:# fdisk /dev/sda (depending the results of the step 4)
    2. Press p to print the partition table to identify the number of partitions. By default, there are 2: sda1 and sda2.
    3. Press n to create a new primary partition.
    4. Press p for primary.
    5. Press 3 for the partition number, depending on the output of the partition table print.
    6. Press Enter two times.
    7. Press t to change the system’s partition ID.
    8. Press 3 to select the newly creation partition.
    9. Type 8e to change the Hex Code of the partition for Linux LVM.
    10. Press w to write the changes to the partition table.
  5. Restart the virtual machine.
  6. Run this command to verify that the changes were saved to the partition table and that the new partition has an 8e type:

    # fdisk -l

  7. Run this command to convert the new partition to a physical volume:

    Note: The number for the sda can change depending on system setup. Use the sda number that was created in step 5.

    # pvcreate /dev/sda3

  8. Run this command to extend the physical volume:

    # vgextend rootvg /dev/sda3

    Note: To determine which volume group to extend, use the command vgdisplay.

  9. Run this command to verify how many physical extents are available to the Volume Group:

    # vgdisplay rootvg | grep „Free”

  10. Run the following command to extend the Logical Volume:

    # lvextend -L +10G /dev/rootvg/rootvol

    Where # is the number of Free space in GB available as per the previous command. Use the full number output from Step 10 including any decimals.

    Note: To determine which logical volume to extend, use the command lvdisplay.

  11. Run the following command to expand the ext3 filesystem online, inside of the Logical Volume:

    # resize2fs /dev/rootvg/rootvol

  12. Run the following command to verify that the / filesystem has the new space available:
    # df -h

[Ubiquiti Edge Router] zone-based firewall with VMware environment – Quick review kit

Hello,

I was preparing for this tutorial long time… so here it is -> zone-based firewall with VMware environment.

Together with this post there supposed to be video tutorial as, I experienced some technical issues when I was preparing movie (mostly with quality of my voice)

At the moment I am waiting for new microphone, and then once again I will prepare movie and publish on YouTube channel and of course will post here with information.

– Ubiquiti Edge Route lite part –

  1. Prepare interfaces (per zone) on Ubiquiti Edge Router Lite -> eth1.600
    (VLAN, IP addressing)
  2. Configure firewall policies
    – Firewall Group (object)
    – Access Control List per firewall group (object)
  3. zone-based policy
    – Configure relations between zone ZONE:WAN (external) and ZONE:UBNT (internal)
  4. Troubleshooting based on SSH 22/TCP issue
    – tcpdump
    – understading TCP flags
    – three way handshake
    – conntrack

– VMware ESXi server part –

  1. Configure vSwitch
    – Create new port group
    – Add VLAN number 600
  2. Configure Virtual Machine
    – Assign to port-group on VMware
    – Provide IP addressing on vNIC

After mega uber huge suffer regarding shitty Samsung S II Plus and Samsung Galaxy Trend Plus (GT-S7580).

Finally decided to buy some more stable, phone what I can trust.
(Don’t want any more suspended apps, reboot itself etc..) I’m sick and tired, simply is just wasting mine time.

Before I had iPhone 5c as a business phone. Was OK, stable. So here it is iPhone 6s 128GB Gold edition.

Soon I will make some video with some short brief about this phone 🙂 maybe un-boxing ? who knows ? 🙂

Hello!

I want to share something with you 🙂
Yes, I know it is! it will be very sick what I want to do. But  it is me! Crazy IT guy nioch nioch.

OK, now i’m serious. I’m going to implement in my home environment & infrastructure some 3rd party backup service provider. I decided it will me Amazon AWS.

Everything will based on VMware Solution, virtual router probably Vyatta or Cisco vASA as a Virtual Appliance (depends of free limitations) i think max up to 20 megs of traffic. Will check this. (not sure)

Everything will connected via secured IPsec tunnel Site-to-Site.
Below just attached draft topology.

Cacti & Centreon Network Monitoring Tools | Implementation has been done

Hi everyone!

Just to let you know that I spent whole last weekend to implement some monitoring tools
in my Home Data Center and Global Network.

Everything is based on Virtual Machines thanks to VMware ESXi 6.0.0 Hypervisor.

Centreon – IT & Network Monitoring -> www.centreon.com
Cacti – The Complete RRDTool-based Graphing Solution -> www.cacti.net
